shafic was born in 1879.  Shafic's father was diab said abou haidar and his mother was saoud tabsharani.  His paternal grandparents are said tanos abou haidar and <Unknown>.  He had three brothers and four sisters, named khalil, mousa, fadlo, shafica, dalal, malakeh and hassibeh.  He died at the age of 84 in 1963.
